Interview with Ms. Gestner

Today we interviewed Ms.Gestner! If you don’t know her she is an art teacher and is the “leader” I guess you can say of the Building Beautification Team. Here are the questions we asked her!

Q: How did you come up with the Building Beautification Team?

A: I made a painting for the staff lounge and Ms. Link loved it. She told me we needed more art in WJH and I asked if I could have my own team and then everything just bloomed right then!

Q: How did you finalize the design for the mural in the cafeteria?

A: The kids in the team proposed ideas and Ms.Link liked the idea of the mural the best, which Kathy Lee came up with

Q: What are the colors in the mural? 

A: The background is going to have dark and light grey stripes, the letters are going to be red and there will be black paws around the mural.

Q: How many people are on the team?

A: On any given day it is usually 10-13 people.

Q: How do you make such a large scale mural?

A: The initial design was on a regular sheet of paper, then we create a grid. Then we enlarge everything according to the ratio and everyone on the team worked on a separate section.
